Future-Preneurs Zambia (FPSZ) is a unique and dynamic membership-based, non-profit organization operating on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. Established in 2011 and officially registered in 2016 under the National Youth Development Council (NYDC) Act No. 13, Cap 144 of 1994. FPSZ is dedicated to advocacy, economic governance, and promoting social accountability, human rights, and climate justice. Through a combination of advocacy efforts and community-driven initiatives, FPSZ seeks to empower youths and women, aiming to promote equitable and pro-poor policies that enhance the livelihoods of vulnerable communities, particularly in Mufulira and across Zambia.
GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE FOR FUTURE-PRENEURS TOWN
Mufulira (“Place of Abundance”) is a town with a population of 162,889 (2021) on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. It was established in the 1930s around the site of the Mufulira Copper Mine on its north-western edge. The town is 16 km from the border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is the start of the road connecting the Copperbelt to the Luapula Province, making that province Mufulira commercial hinterland. A tarred highway to the south-west connects Mufulira to Kitwe (45 km) and Chingola (55 km), and another to the south-east connects to Ndola (57 km).
