  • Capacity building through training in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and vocational skills.

2. Climate Justice and Environmental Sustainability

Goal: Advocate for climate justice by promoting sustainable environmental practices and empowering communities to address the impacts of climate change.

Key Activities:

  • Climate change awareness campaigns targeting rural and mining-affected communities.
  • Capacity building for farmers on climate-resilient agricultural practices.
  • Advocacy for policies that ensure sustainable resource management and environmental protection, especially in mining areas.
  • Engage in climate action initiatives to promote renewable energy and reduce deforestation.

3. Economic Governance and Accountability

Goal: Strengthen transparency, accountability, and public participation in governance, particularly in public financial management and natural resource governance.

Key Activities:

  • Advocacy for transparency in the allocation and utilization of public funds, such as the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
  • Public awareness and education on budget tracking, fiscal transparency, and citizen-led accountability.
  • Capacity building for civil society organizations (CSOs) and community members to monitor public spending and report irregularities.
  • Collaboration with government agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders to enhance good governance.

4. Sustainable and Renewable Energy

Goal: Promote access to clean, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions for rural communities and marginalized groups.

Key Activities:

  • Promote the use of solar energy and other renewable energy technologies in rural areas.
  • Train local communities in the adoption and maintenance of renewable energy systems.
  • Advocate for national policies that prioritize sustainable energy for off-grid communities.

5. Sustainable Mining Practices and Artisanal Mining Support

Goal: Support artisanal and small-scale miners (ASM) in adopting safe, responsible, and environmentally sustainable mining practices.

Key Activities:

  • Provide training to artisanal miners on health and safety regulations, and environmentally friendly mining techniques.
  • Advocate for policies that protect the rights of artisanal miners and ensure fair distribution of mining benefits.
  • Facilitate access to markets and legal support for artisanal miners, particularly women and youth in the extractive sector.

6. Social Accountability and Human Rights

Goal: Strengthen social accountability mechanisms and promote human rights, especially in marginalized communities.

Key Activities:

  • Conduct human rights education programs focused on women, youth, and vulnerable communities.
  • Engage in social audits of government programs to ensure they are benefiting the intended populations.
  • Advocate for improved legal frameworks that protect human rights and promote social equity.

7. Capacity Building and Education

Goal: Equip youth, women, and marginalized groups with the skills and knowledge they need to contribute to Zambia’s socio-economic growth.
